Industries Licoreras history of Guatemala begins in the early years of the twentieth century. That's when the pioneers mount an alcohol and rum distillery, a distributor of spirits and four bottling plants. These companies founded what is these days the National Association of Manufacturers of Alcohol and Liquor Guatemala (ANFAL) and manage to become an industry leader in Guatemala and Central America. Their products were increasingly better because they were subjected to rigorous quality controls and the review of the most expert tasters. The result of this outstanding quality is the Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Reserve 23 years. This rum was Platinum award winner in the highest category: Super Premium, for in International Rum Festival 2003. Festival which took no less than 175 brands of rum distilleries over 40 worldwide. The Ron Zacapa Centenario XO is made with patience honey from virgin sugar cane aged for 23 years in American white oak barrels which previously añejaron Bourbon whiskey, sherry and Pedro Ximenez. The last phase of aging takes place in French oak barrels have aged brandy. The result is a great balance between complexity of aromas and flavors.
